One of the easiest ways to balance your chakras is through meditation. This is part one in a seven-part series of simple and effective chakra meditations.
Your root chakra is the seventh chakra, located at the base of the spine. It's associated with foundation, security, safety, fear, and physical and earthly things such as your home and money. Doing a Root chakra meditation can be an excellent way to feel grounded and secure.
Here is a simple meditation practice you can do as often as you like.
1. Get comfortable somewhere and ground your energy to prepare to meditate. I find listening to frequency music helps me, and 396 hz is associated with the root chakra.
2. If you have them, crystals can help you during meditation. The crystals I recommend for the root chakra are hematite, black tourmaline, red jasper, black obsidian, garnet, shungite, or any red or black stones.
3. Relax and Breathe: Close your eyes and take deep, slow breaths. Inhale deeply through your nose and exhale slowly through your mouth. Allow your body to relax with each breath.
4. Visualize a Red Light: Focus on your root chakra, located at the base of your spine. Visualize a bright red light at this point. Imagine this red light growing brighter and more vibrant with each breath.
5. Connect to the Earth: Picture roots extending from your root chakra, going deep into the earth. Feel the energy of the earth flowing up through these roots, grounding and stabilizing you.
6. Repeat affirmations: You can use a mantra like "LAM" (associated with the root chakra) or repeat affirmations such as "I am safe and secure" or "I am grounded."
7. Hold the Visualization: Continue to focus on the red light and the connection to the earth. Hold this visualization for several minutes, maintaining your deep, rhythmic breathing.
8. Finish Slowly: When you're ready to end the meditation, slowly bring your awareness back to the present moment.
Remember to practice regularly for the best results.
